From the outset, founders Keith and Anne Cantlie set out to pioneer a new way of working, restoring people to the centre of the recruitment and selection processes. In an industry crowded with one-size-fits-all approaches, we specialise in executive recruitment and selection, executive career strategy and talent advisory services.

Cantlie was established in February 2005 with the goal of providing specialist recruitment services to Canberra and the region. With many years of experience in the employment industry, our Principal Keith Cantlie saw there was a need for a new way of doing business in the recruitment profession. Rather than measuring success on volume and throughput, Cantlie approached its work with clients on a consultancy basis, providing deep industry expertise, delivering quality outcomes and focusing on continually adapting to market needs.
Over two decades, Cantlie has built a highly recognised brand and earned the reputation of being one of the leading Executive Career and Recruitment Strategist in the Canberra region. Cantlie has developed trusted and genuine professional connections, working across the Not for Profit/For Purpose and Industry sectors.
Cantlie’s unique approach is supported by its continued connection to Canberra through professional relationships, community engagement and sponsorships. Keith actively contributes to the Canberra business community including participating as a member of the Canberra Business Chamber. Additionally, Cantlie provides support to community organisations such as St Vincent de Paul Canberra and Goulburn, Lifeline Canberra and Menslink.
Keith also actively worked to establish the St John Paul II College in Gungahlin and was Community Council Chair of the college for seven years. Cantlie also had a leading role in the sponsorship of the ACT Brumbies coaches from 2013 to 2015 inclusive.

Our Team
Keith Cantlie
Keith has extensive experience in the recruitment industry working specifically in this profession since early 2001. His people skills, strong business acumen and sound judgement have enabled him to build a “trusted adviser” relationship with his clients, through whom he has been able to develop workable and innovative solutions in relation to their people needs.
This approach and focus have created a new benchmark for executive recruitment services in Canberra, earning Keith a solid and respected reputation. Keith is a registered employment agent in the ACT and plays an active role supporting organisations such as the Canberra Business Chamber, Lifeline Canberra, St Vincent de Paul Canberra Goulburn and many other community groups, as well as being a Board Member of the ACT Inclusion Council.
He holds an Associate Diploma of Business in Management and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Prior to starting his own business, Keith’s career was with an international specialist recruitment agency, within several Commonwealth government departments and a major Australian Bank in the areas of operational and customer management, change management and financial services.

Anne Cantlie
As Principal and Director of Cantlie, Anne is responsible for the operational and financial management of the business. In addition, Anne provides quality assurance to ensure that positive outcomes are delivered consistently for our clients, utilising her strong project management skills and attention to detail she ensures quality results and a solid return on clients’ investments.
Anne also plays an active role within the local community supporting a range of organisations including St Vincent de Paul, specifically as a Vinnies Night Patrol Team Leader.
Before co-founding Cantlie, Anne held event management roles with the Australian Human Resources Institute and CPA Australia. Anne holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Accounting and Management Studies) and a Marketing Practice Certificate.
