To achieve this vision and deliver on its strategic initiatives the University has a key opportunity for an experienced individual to take on the newly established role of Director Residential Experience. Working as part of the portfolio of University Experience, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the University’s accommodation services and residential/affiliated residential halls clearly align to the values and expectations of the University reflecting the diversity of our nation and the globe.
Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor University Experience, you will provide leadership to the eight ANU and six affiliated residential halls and accommodation services for more than 5,000 students ensuring academic and pastoral support that befits the status of the national university and the strategic goal of a culture of academic excellence.
You will lead a specialist customer centric team and work collaboratively with affiliated Heads of Halls to deliver world leading and quality student accommodation and services to ensure excellence and consistency in the provision of pastoral and academic support for all residential students.
To be successful in this role you will be known for your customer centric and authentic leadership style and your ability to deal with complex and sometimes difficult situations in a pragmatic and objective manner. You will be solutions oriented and be able to understand and apply regulatory frameworks in a considered and empathetic manner utilising your well-developed communication and negotiating skills. Your strong business acumen and capacity to work within an environment with competing priorities and changing dynamics is essential.
You will have a background in the delivery of student/youth/young adult support services within the education, social and/or similar sectors. Postgraduate qualifications and relevant extensive experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training is essential. An understanding of property would be beneficial although not essential.
